Tour Plan

Leave in the afternoon from Wilson Airport to Lake Turkana to arrive in the evening. On arrival you will be picked up by your safari driver and head to Eliye Springs expansive stretches of deserted sandy beaches, fringed by palm groves and lapped by the warm waters of Lake Turkana, you will unwind, chill and swim in the inviting waters of Lake Turkana and interact with the locals.

Have breakfast and head out for an exploration in Central Island National park, you will have a boat trip to the park, then ride on the base of the flamingo crater, climb the hill and you will be welcomed with a breathtaking view. On the boat ride around the Island, you will discover the rich birdlife. In the afternoon you will take a walk to the crocodile crater where you will see crocodiles living inside the crater.

Have breakfast and take a boat ride back and head to Lake Turkana for a day of relaxing, additionally you may visit Loiyangalani and the community that is settled there. While in the local community you will visit the Turkana Manyattas for traditional dances, you can also visit the Elmolo tribe – one of the smallest tribe in Kenya, and the lake is named after these people. Lake Turkana is situated in the area where Richard Leakey uncovered the 3 million-year-old fossils of Homo Erect-Us, the pre-historic site is now known as the “cradle of Mankind” and also known as the “Jade Sea” because of its remarkable blue-green color which is a result of the algae practices, which shift with changes of the wind and light. So the water surface shifts from blue to grey to fabulous Jade. Lake Turkana is home to the largest population of Nile crocodiles in the world and while at the lake you will take a short sunset boat ride to the surrounding area.

Have breakfast and head for a full-day road trip to Turkana Bay a site of the famous complete skeleton of 1,600,000-year-old homo erectus, along the way you will visit the Fishermen on Ferguson Gold and experience the Turkana road from the road.

After breakfast and morning rest, transfer to Airstrip for your afternoon flight to Nairobi. Upon arrival at Wilson Airport, you will be picked and transferred to Nairobi residences or Airport.
