Tour Plan
At 0800hrs pick up from your residence/hotel/Airport and leave for Nanyuki, a town nearby Mount Kenya. Do some shopping at the town and have lunch Thereafter, transfer to Sirimon Gate, and the base of Mount Kenya 2660m. Here you meet with guides / porters and start your climb at 10am. After a 3-hour walk with lunch on the way, you will head to Old Moses Camp (3300m) on the edge of the mountainous forest where you will spend the night.
At 0800hrs, leave for Shiptons Camp. After one hour from Shiptons Camp, the track crosses Ontulili River. Go right contouring through the Moorland and crossing Liki North and continue uphill to Mackinder’s Valley from where there are panoramic views up the valley towards the main peaks. Arrive at Shiptons Camp (4200m) in time for dinner and rest.
At 0330hrs, have an early morning climb through steep stony quarry that cuts through a cliff clearing visible part towards lower Hall Tarns arriving Point Lenana, 4,985 m (16,355 ft.) at 6:30am, taking about 3hrs. After the sunrise, descend down to Shiptons Camp, 2hrs, for breakfast and further, 4hrs, down to Old Moses Camp for dinner and overnight.
At 0800hrs, have your breakfast and descend down through the rainforest to arrive at Sirimon gate in time to connect with your driver. Have lunch at Nanyuki town then leave for Nairobi to arrive in good time to be dropped at your residence/hotel/Airport.
